Khelo India, a privately owned Indian organization founded in 2018, manages the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG). These annual multi-sport events, held in January or February, are a national-level competition for Indian students, encompassing two age groups: under-17 school students and under-21 college students. As of 2023, the organization employs approximately 40 people.
Khelo India issued an invitation for expressions of interest from partners for various Fit India Movement campaigns. A weedout notification was issued for Khelo India athletes in the athletics discipline, and induction, weedout, and retention protocols were established for the table tennis discipline. The Border Security Forces in Kashmir Valley organized a cycle rally on an unspecified date to celebrate the Khelo India Scheme’s Fit India Initiative and commemorate Vijay Diwas. Data on discipline-wise participation in all editions of the Khelo India Games was also released.
