News Summary:

On April 1, 2026, KT Corp. appointed Park Yoon-young as CEO at its annual shareholder meeting, tasking him with accelerating the telco's shift toward AI-native operations. Park, who spent 30 years at KT and most recently led the enterprise services division, replaces Kim Young-seop. Previously, on March 31, 2026, KT, South Korea’s second-largest telco, had named Park Yoon-young as its new chief executive officer to implement an increasingly AI-focused strategy and stabilize operations following a large-scale data breach. The company began its search for a new chief in November 2025 after former CEO Kim Young-seop decided not to seek another term, taking responsibility for the company's shortcomings after a disastrous cyberbreach.
