NLziet says 79% of viewing time on TVs

NLziet, the OTT TV service in the Netherlands, said its subscribers watched around 133 million hours of TV in the past year. The service is mainly used on a big screen, with smart TVs and media boxes accounting for 78.6 percent of viewing time, followed by 8.2 percent for tablets, 6.7 percent of time on laptops and 6.4 percent on smartphones. Viewing time over TVs has grown 21.6 percent in the past six years.

NLziet adds Paramount channels to top plan

Dutch OTT TV service NLziet is adding seven more channels to its 'Extra' top-of-the-range plan. The new channels, available from 01 July and all from the Paramount library, are Paramount Network, MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Nicktoons and Nick Music.

Viaplay first to be cancelled when Dutch consumers want to save on streaming

Almost half of Dutch people with multiple streaming subscriptions including Viaplay said Viaplay would be the first they cancel if they want to save money. SkyShowtime (38%) and HBO Max (36%) would follow, according to the survey of over 1,000 consumers by Slimster. Spotify Premium, Apple Music, F1 TV and NLziet are the least likely to be cancelled first, at respectively 12, 10, 9 and 7.5 percent. The results suggest consumers are more tied to music services than video.
