Public Broadcasting Services (PBS), also known as PBS, is Malta's state-owned public broadcaster, established on November 11, 1975, initially as Xandir Malta. Employing approximately 110 people, PBS operates television and radio services, with its TVM channel being Malta's most viewed television station. Its radio station, Magic Malta, also enjoys significant listenership. PBS's funding comes from government grants and commercial airtime sales. In 2022, its revenue was less than $25 million. PBS is a joint member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) alongside the Maltese Broadcasting Authority (MBA).
Malta International Airport reported 1,035,341 passengers in July, a 5.3% increase compared to July of the previous year, with an almost 90% occupancy rate. This increase reflects connectivity improvements, including service to 109 destinations. Separately, the University of Malta's Department of Disability Studies celebrated its tenth anniversary. Transport Malta is working on the organization of Ghadira Bay. The European Central Bank's Single Supervisory Mechanism Chairperson noted similarities between Malta's banking sector and that of the rest of Europe, including increased profitability.
