Saudi Telecom Company, also known as STC, is a publicly owned company headquartered in Saudi Arabia. Founded in 1998, with approximately 21,500 employees, the company reported $20.7B in revenue as of 2025. Functioning as the primary telecommunications and digital services provider in Saudi Arabia, the group provides a range of ICT services, including fixed-line and mobile telephony, broadband internet, and cloud computing across the Middle East and parts of Europe. Primarily owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) with a 64% stake, STC operates as a conglomerate with major subsidiaries such as solutions by stc (IT services), stc pay (digital banking), and center3 (digital infrastructure), while also holding strategic international stakes in operators like Telefónica. The company is centrally involved in Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure development, including the rollout of 5G networks and the provision of neutral digital hosts for major national "giga-projects" like Diriyah.
On September 11, 2026, the company partnered with Astranis Space Technologies to bring a dedicated satellite to Saudi Arabia, aiming to expand the Kingdom's digital infrastructure and connectivity capabilities. This agreement, initially announced on September 10, involves the deployment of a satellite, part of Astranis' Block 3, scheduled for launch in 2026, which will enhance the company's satellite communication services across the Kingdom. Previously, on September 8, STC Group Colab officially launched as a dedicated corporate venture-building arm during the LEAP 2026 conference in Riyadh, focusing on creating, testing, and scaling new digital enterprises across regional markets by developing original business models from internal assets and market research. Earlier the same day, the company and Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during LEAP 2026 to explore collaboration in media production technology, cloud infrastructure, and artificial intelligence-powered workflows, examining how the company’s telecommunications cloud and digital infrastructure can support SRMG’s operations. This follows a strategic sponsorship agreement signed on September 7 with the King Salman Center for Disability Research (KSCDR) for the 7th International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation, scheduled to take place in Riyadh from October 11 to 13, 2026.
