UIPM, also known as World Pentathlon, is a privately owned organization headquartered in Monaco. Founded in 1948, the organization has approximately 90 employees. On September 2, 2026, Chinese specialist outdoor footwear brand CGX unveiled its R1010 and R1020 professional obstacle racing shoes at the UIPM 2026 Obstacle World Championships in Beijing. The R1020 model targets the 100m format, while the R1010 is built for 400m and 3km racing; both models will be worn by the Chinese Modern Pentathlon Obstacle Race Team. Previously, on July 13, the UIPM Executive Board lifted all restrictions on the participation of Russian athletes and teams in UIPM Sports, a change effective from the 2026 European Championships, and announced an Athlete Consultation to take place during the Pentathlon World Championships. Earlier, on June 10, Csaba Bohm of Hungary and Lena Dogue of Germany stood out in the Men's Qualification round at the UIPM 2026 Pentathlon World Cup Budapest, which saw an unprecedented entry of 135 athletes. On May 26, a new cohort of Modern Pentathlon judges completed the UIPM Judges Certification Programme (JCP) in Santo Domingo, strengthening technical officiating in the Dominican Republic ahead of future regional multisport competitions, including the 25th Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games. This followed Changwan Seo of Korea's victory on May 17 in the Men’s Final at UIPM 2026 Pentathlon World Cup Pazardzhik, where he held off Matej Lukes of Czechia.
