News Summary:

Following its approximately $3 billion takeover of South Africa’s MultiChoice in October 2025, Canal+ began implementing its new strategy, shutting down the Showmax streaming platform in March 2026, axing the DStv Delicious Festival sponsorship in April 2026, and targeting €400 million in cost savings by 2030. Earlier in April 2026, Canal+ appointed Christophe Pinard-Legry as CEO of Canal+ Europe, an addition to his existing role as head of Canal+ France for business activities. This promotion also made Pinard-Legry a member of the Canal+ management board, chaired by CEO Maxime Saada, alongside CFO Amandine Ferré, StudioCanal boss Anna Marsh, Canal+ Africa chief David Mignot, and Gérald Brice Viret. Previously, on February 12, 2026, Canal+ Poland initiated a cooperation with the SVOD platform CDA, allowing CDA Premium subscribers to access selected Canal+ channels. The Basic package includes Canal+ Sport 5, Minimini+, Planete+, Teletoon+, Canal+ Kunchnia, and Canal+ Domo, while Alekino+ and Novelas+ are part of the Start package.
