News Summary:

On February 22, eight LIV Golf players, including Tyrrell Hatton, secured conditional releases from the DP World Tour, allowing them to compete freely on both circuits. Jon Rahm was not among those granted a release, casting doubt on his 2027 Ryder Cup eligibility. This development followed Rahm's rejection, on February 21, of a European Tour compromise. That deal would have allowed him to compete in LIV Golf events without penalty, provided he paid his previous fines, participated in stipulated European Tour events, and dropped his appeal. Earlier, on February 20, the DP World Tour announced it granted conditional releases to eight members who had joined LIV: Laurie Canter, Thomas Detry, Tyrrell Hatton, Tom McKibbin, Adrian Meronk, Victor Perez, David Puig, and Elvis Smylie. These players accepted conditions for their release, which included the full payment of all outstanding fines for breaches of DP World Tour regulations and participation in additional stipulated DP World Tour tournaments and associated media and promotional activities.
