News Summary:

The GAA and the HSE’s Dementia: Understand Together campaign launched the "Standing Together on and off the Pitch" initiative on July 10, promoting dementia-inclusive clubs during the All-Ireland Football semi-final. This campaign developed in partnership with the family of former GAA President Seán McCague, who lived with dementia for ten years. Earlier, on July 3, the GAA conceded that the redeveloped Casement Park in Belfast will have a capacity considerably below its original 34,500 plan, following an Ulster Council meeting where a scaled-down version emerged as likely. This follows the Irish Life GAA Healthy Clubs Programme receiving the Community Impact/CSR Initiative of the Year award at the eir Business Chambers Ireland Awards on July 1, recognizing its decade of work supporting healthier communities. Previously, on June 27, GAA President Jarlath Burns defended the association’s broadcasting arrangements, stating in the All-Ireland SFC quarter-final match programme that traditional schedules cannot accommodate all games, addressing debate around GAA+ and RTÉ. On June 25, PwC Ireland extended its title sponsorship of the GAA/GPA and Camogie Association All-Stars for another three years, continuing a partnership that began in 2017.
