Orange Romania, a privately owned company founded in 1996 and headquartered in Romania, is a subsidiary of Orange Europe. Its primary business is providing telecommunications services to consumers in Romania, with a focus on pay TV services.
Orange Romania won a tender from the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) on an unspecified date to provide a cybersecurity solution for the “Implementation of Government Cloud Infrastructure” project. A partnership between Orange Romania and Cyan was formed to enhance cybersecurity defenses. Orange Romania currently serves approximately 9.7 million mobile customers and 1.2 million fixed internet customers. In recent months, Orange Romania expanded its 5G/5G+ services to six new cities: Ploiești, Deva, Târgoviște, Călărași, Giurgiu, and Cluj-Napoca. This expansion follows the renewal of the fastest mobile network certification in Romania. Separately, Thierry Millet, a former CEO of Orange Romania, was appointed CEO of Orange Money Group. Millet succeeds Aminata Kane, who left Orange after nearly twelve years.
