It is composed of 30 teams (29 in the United States and 1 in Canada) and is widely considered to be the premier men's professional basketball league in the world. The NBA is a global sports and media business built around the world's best players. The league has established a major international presence with games and programming in 215 countries and territories in 50 languages, and merchandise for sale in more than 100,000 stores in 100 countries on six continents. NBA rosters feature more than 100 international players from 40 countries. In addition to the NBA, the company operates the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), the NBA G League, the NBA 2K League and the Basketball Africa League. The NBA is headquartered in New York City and has 20,900 employees.
