The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) announced on March 18, 2026, the creation of the ITTF Doubles World Cup, a new competition approved by its Executive Board, which will bring together Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Doubles events on the world stage. Earlier in March, on March 3, the ITTF confirmed that the Men’s and Women’s World Cup Macao 2026, presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), will be held at Galaxy Arena in Cotai from March 30 to April 5, with tickets becoming available for sale shortly. This followed the ITTF's announcement on March 1, 2026, of a reorganisation of its administration designed to sharpen its focus on Member Association development and streamline operations. Under this new model, the ITTF will no longer maintain a Chief Executive Officer position. Previously, on September 16, 2025, the ITTF and World Table Tennis (WTT) secured a four-year broadcast partnership with CazéTV, granting exclusive digital free-to-view rights in Brazil from 2025 to 2028, aiming to make table tennis more accessible in the country.
