Proximus confirmed Cecile Coune as the new chair of its board of directors on April 16, 2026. The annual shareholders meeting approved her appointment alongside seven other directors, including Proximus CEO Stijn Bijnens, Muriel De Lathouwer, Francis De Meyere, Eric Domb, Beatrice de Mahieu, Emmanuele Attout, and Pierre Winand. The Belgian state shareholding company, Proximus's majority shareholder, nominated most of the board members, with Attout and Winand serving as independent directors. Earlier on the same day, Proximus Global appointed Seckin Arikan as its new CEO. Arikan will lead the newly unified entity, formed in January by combining BICS, Telesign, and Route Mobile.
