The FIM announced on March 29 the provisional entry list for the opening round of the 2026 FIM Sidecar World Championship, which will feature twenty-six sidecars competing at the Le Mans race during the 24 Hours Moto weekend. Previously, the Pirelli Portuguese Round concluded on March 28, drawing an attendance of 82,132 to Portimao where ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team rider Miguel Oliveira finished third in all three races. On March 25, the FIM updated its listing of homologated motorcycles for 2026, suspending the FIM Homologation for the QJ MotorSRK 800 RS in the SUPERSPORT NEXT GENERATION category due to non-compliance with regulations. That same day, MotoGP prepared for its third round in the USA at COTA, following four consecutive wins by Bezzecchi. Earlier, on March 24, the FIM confirmed the passing of Jeff Smith MBE, a two-time FIM 500cc Motocross World Champion in 1964 and 1965, recognized as a significant off-road rider of his era.
