News Summary:

The 2026 FIM Speedway Under 21 World Championship (SGP2) is set to begin its Qualifying rounds this coming Saturday, June 27, with races simultaneously staged in Pardubice, Czech Republic; Fjelsted, Denmark; and Krško, Slovenia. Earlier on June 19, MotoGP and its five manufacturers—Aprilia, Ducati, Honda, KTM, and Yamaha—signed a partnership agreement, described as "first-of-its-kind," that mirrors Formula 1’s Concorde agreement, aiming to commercialize the sport through 2031 under the ownership of Formula 1 parent Liberty Media. On the same day, South Australia secured the FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) round, relocating the event from Victoria to The Bend under a new multi-year agreement effective from 2028, following the return of the MotoGP Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix to Adelaide’s street circuit starting in 2027. Previously on June 15, Marc Marquez of the Ducati Lenovo Team met performance expectations at Balaton, a venue where he had secured two wins in 2025. Also on June 15, Anders Thomsen and Jan Kvech joined the DEWALT FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Wroclaw, replacing Dan Bewley and Fredrik Lindgren, as Bewley remained sidelined, recovering from a fractured femur and compressed vertebra suffered in a May 20 crash, which caused his absence from three consecutive Speedway GP rounds.
