Established in 1998 by royal decree, the company operates with approximately 21,500 employees and reported 77.8 billion SAR in revenue for the 2025 fiscal year. It is primarily owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), which holds a 64% stake. Functioning as the primary telecommunications and digital services provider in Saudi Arabia, the group provides a range of ICT services, including fixed-line and mobile telephony, broadband internet, and cloud computing across the Middle East and parts of Europe. As a conglomerate, it operates with major subsidiaries such as solutions by stc (IT services), stc pay (digital banking), and center3 (digital infrastructure), and holds strategic international stakes in operators like Telefónica. The company is centrally involved in the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure development, including the rollout of 5G networks and the provision of neutral digital hosts for major national giga-projects like Diriyah.
On April 17, 2026, stc Group announced a partnership with real estate developer ROSHN Group to establish a neutral fiber optic network infrastructure for the upcoming phases of the SEDRA community in Riyadh, with stc Group responsible for its planning and implementation. Previously, on April 16, 2026, sccc by stc appointed Khalid Alashaikh as its Chief Executive Officer. This appointment aims to accelerate the company's expansion in cloud infrastructure and digital transformation services, with Alashaikh set to lead the strategic direction focusing on scaling cloud capabilities, strengthening enterprise solutions, and expanding managed services across the region.
