Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)
Union Cycliste Internationale, also known as UCI, is a State Owned organization headquartered in Switzerland. Founded in 1900, employing approximately 260 individuals, the organization reported $79.6M in revenue as of 2024. Functioning as a tier 1 media tech buyer, the Union Cycliste Internationale serves as the world governing body for cycling, recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Its mission is to develop and promote cycling as a competitive sport, a healthy recreational activity, or a means of transport, working in close collaboration with National Federations. The UCI governs eight disciplines of the sport: road, track, mountain bike, cyclo-cross, BMX, trials, indoor, and para. Four of these disciplines, road, track, mountain bike, and BMX, are represented at the Olympic Games, while road and track are featured at the Paralympic Games, and road, mountain bike, and BMX are included in the Youth Olympic Games. Additionally, the UCI promotes a number of its own events, including the annual UCI Road World Championships and a range of other UCI World Championships and World Cups across its various disciplines.
